Job Description Job Description JOB SUMMARY The role involves
the cleaning, packaging, sterilization, and storage of supplies,
instruments, and equipment. A Sterile Processing Certification,
along with relevant knowledge and experience, is essential. Reports
To: Operating Room Supervisor QUALIFICATIONS Required certification
as a sterile processing instrument specialist and central service
technician Proven understanding of sterilization principles is
necessary Experience in central processing functions is mandatory
Frequent judgment and quick responses are essential Strong
communication skills in English are required OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURE
This position involves Category I exposure to bloodborne pathogens,
frequent contact with chemical hazards, and potential radiation
exposure. RESPONSIBILITIES Follow sterilization policies and
procedures diligently. Clean each item in accordance with the
manufacturer's instructions. Inspect instruments under a microscope
for any damage or defects; lubricate items as necessary. Ensure
that each item is functioning properly. Sort and organize items
into appropriate trays based on established guidelines. Wrap trays
and individual items according to set procedures. Label each item
accurately with its name and expiration date. Operate sterilizers,
ultrasonic washers, and other processing equipment correctly.
Position items appropriately in the sterilizer and select the
correct cycle; seek help when needed. Check indicators to ensure
proper functioning. Conduct required biological monitoring tests on
all sterilizers as per established protocols. Maintain a steady
supply of materials for uninterrupted recording throughout the
sterilization process. Clean sterilizers according to established
policies. Keep accurate inventory levels and records. Perform
weekly inspections of all sterile items within the facility. Check
for expired items and the integrity of wrapped sterilized products;
replace as necessary. Store items in their designated locations.
Ensure adequate supply inventory for the sterile processing area.
Update and maintain the instrument tray inventory list. Keep
current information regarding routine preference cards. Document
the count of items sent to and returned by laundry accurately.

capable of pushing/pulling over 25 pounds. - The employee should be
