Overview

Job Title: Kitchen Designer

Department: Seconds and Surplus

Reports To: Store Manager or Assistant Manager

General Description: The commission sales position is a professional that provides outstanding customer service and product knowledge. Excellent communication abilities are essential for all potential candidates. If you are highly motivated, results driven, and a self-starter then this is the position for you.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions include the following, other activities may be assigned:

• Customer sales of kitchen cabinets, both in-stock and special order
• Will ask questions to determine customer's needs and advise customers by providing information on our products
• Helps customers make selections by building customer confidence, offering suggestions and opinions
• Documents the sale by creating or updating customer profile records
• Processes payments by totaling purchases; processing checks, cash, and credit cards
• Contributes to the team effort by accomplishing sales goals and contributing to the store's needs
• Prepare comprehensive computer aided designs by listening to customer's needs and desires
• Must be able to communicate with customers so that you can understand their Wants vs. Budget
• Work with cabinet vendors to keep up with new offerings and trends, and establish relationships with those vendors
• Both design and sales capabilities are required
• Work with contractors on multi-unit projects
• Establish a progressive close ratio
• Resolving or escalating customer issues/complaints
• Demonstrates timely follow-up and follow-through on customer request and commitments.
• Demonstrate flexibility and ability to adapt to the changing needs of our business
• Be a team Player and contribute to building a positive environment
• Operate point of sale system
• Maintain store appearance to provide an enjoyable and safe shopping experience.
• Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, that includes weekends.

  Qualifications
  
  Education and/or Experience
  
  High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  
  Language Skills
  
  Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
  
  Mathematical Skills
  
  Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
