In collaboration with medical providers, the RN provides pre-operative and post-operative nursing care. The RN serves as an advocate for patients to support an unparalleled patient experience.
  What you will do in this role:

  • Assess patient condition during admission and during each shift, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
    
  • Perform procedures or other functions as ordered by the medical provider.
    
  • Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
    
  • Perform the administration of prescribed medications and monitors response.
    
  • Maintain a knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment used in the care of cardiac and medical-surgical patients.
    What qualifications you will need:
    • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse from Texas Board of Nurse Examiners. Compact license is accepted.
    • Current BLS- Healthcare Provider issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross is required
    • Associate Degree
      • Must have recent Medical Surgical acute care experience of at least 2 yearsThis role requires you to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 based on local, state and /or federal law or regulations (unless a medical or religious exemption is approved).Seasonal Program Runs from August 1, 2022 to April 8, 2023Shift: PRNWork Schedule: PRN (must be flexible). All Seasonal RNs are required to work a minimum of 72 hours per pay period during the seasonal period. Four (4) weekend shifts are required each 4 week schedule period. Medical City Lewisville is a full-service 190+ bed medical and surgical facility. We offer a broad spectrum of care to the communities of southern Denton County. We have emergency services at our main campus and at Medical City ER Flower Mound. Our patient tower has two floors dedicated to women's services. We have a specialty obstetrics referral center for high risk OB services. We have a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Medical City Lewisville is a Level III Trauma Center and a Primary Stroke Center. Excellent customer service and patient safety are our top priorities.
