Software Engineer - Android - Hybrid Schedule How you'll make a difference? Develop medically classified application software from Marketing and Customer input. This includes design verification support as well as design documentation associated with the software. What will your duties and responsibilities be? Develop native iOS and Android-based Mobile Device Applications supporting medical products. Utilize a disciplined approach to software development and test as instructed by lead developer to include: Software Design, Coding, and Unit Test. Adhere to the Orthofix SW development process during each development phase from design to deployment. Maintain a high level of collaboration and communication with internal Orthofix cross-functional groups. Additional Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the design and risk analysis for each medical device software project
  • Assist with FDA-compliant software verification including such activities as:
    • Contribute to the development of test strategies and plans
    • Work with other development members to research and resolve errors What skills and experience you'll need?
      • Experience developing native iOS apps (Apple Xcode / Swift / Objective-C)
      • Experience developing native Android apps (Android Studio / Java / Android SDK)
      • Experience with unit and system level verification of mobile applications
      • Experience with current software development best practices.
      • Proficiency with Object-Oriented design methodology.
      • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
      • Ability to collaborate with a cross-functional, global development team.
      • B.S. Engineering or Computer Science degree or equivalent NONESSENTIAL SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS (not required but preferred):
        • Having published one or more apps to the Apple App Store and/or the Google Play Store is a plus.
        • Experience developing backend web services (Microsoft Visual Studio / C# / ASP.NET / Microsoft SQL Server)
        • Experience with GIT and JIRA
        • Previous experience working in the medical device industry.
        • Working knowledge with FDA guidance's for general principles of software validation.
