Job Description GENERAL DESCRIPTION The materials supervisor supports all aspects of the receiving area including delivery accuracy and storage of delivery materials. RESPONSIBILITIES --- Provide daily direction to leads / employees about the flow of materials as communicated by receiving manager. --- Receive shipments and verify contents with shipping documents and orders. --- Resolve problems with any discrepancies in the shipments/ documents / orders. --- Input receiving information into Windfall. --- Maintain contact with shipping companies to communicate and receive status. --- Verifies and assures delivery and transaction accuracy of lift drivers. --- Responsible for the total supervision of the receiving department in the absence of the receiving manager. --- Interface with inventory control manager to insure correct placement of inventory. --- Focus on continuous improvement in the receiving area / process. --- Take ownership of the department and associated processes. --- Maintain dock area for safety, efficiency, and cleanliness. --- From time to time, for the purposes of allowing employees to advance as well as to meet day to day labor needs, we may ask employees to work in other departments/positions outside of their regular job classification. --- All other duties as assigned. WORK EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS --- High School diploma or equivalent. --- Some college experience preferred. --- 2 years preferred in material handling position. --- At least 2 years of supervision experience preferred. --- Computer literacy a must. ABILITIES REQUIRED --- Attention to detail and ability to ensure functions are completed. --- A commitment to growth as a leader for the benefit of the overall organization. --- Effective verbal and written communication skills are required. --- Proficiency with electronic devices such as tablets, RF scanners and computer systems. --- Intermediate knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook. --- Must be able to work overtime when necessary --- Ability to speak Spanish preferred. --- Must be able to work alternate shift when needed --- Must be able to lift 50lbs without assistance frequently and up to/above 100lbs occasionally with assistance. --- Ability to push, pull, kneel, squat on a frequent basis. --- Standing/Walking 8 or more hours per day.
