Join an exciting and dynamic team delivering a large-scale Enterprise Common Tools cloud platform, automation & orchestration, and Cloud Application Migration effort. This team works in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, with engineering, migration, and operations & sustainment of cloud migration efforts. Enterprise Common Tools and specific Army program customer migration efforts provide a range of day-to-day challenges, while the bigger picture architecture and migration efforts provide tangible milestones that the team pursues together following AGILE practices, to deliver the overall program effort. We're building a team with the right skills to deliver operations and sustainment in an environment of customer mission delivery, integrity, and communications, with both dedicated and matrixed resources, and the chance to learn and grow on the job and the program. We're looking to fill this role/team with those who currently have the cloud experience, certifications, and skills to execute in large enterprise environments, are flexible and enjoy tackling challenges, and desire to join a large team that is building and sustaining a large multi-tenant cloud platform/enterprise and migrating/expanding/automating the enterprise. **RESPONSIBILITIES:**

The Systems Administrator Jr - AWS will be responsible for provisioning and de-provisioning of storage, compute, and other capabilities as required. Support cloud resource life-cycle management across the cloud hosting environment, to include but not limited to, administration, configuration, and management support, backup, disaster recovery, and COOP for cloud hosted workloads. They will identify, evaluate, and recommend cost effective/best of breed solutions to solve the business and customer problems.

+ Independently provides advance level technical interpretation and solutions in the management of data availability, durability, and protection.

+ Experience deploying and managing infrastructure using infrastructure as code and deploying with a CI/CD pipeline.

+ Troubleshoots storage permissions and access policies that are moderate to high complexity in scope.

+ Monitors and tunes the system to achieve optimum storage performance levels.

+ Independently ensures data/media recoverability by following a schedule of system backups and database archive operations.

+ Conducts storage audits to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines.

+ Experience deploying and managing containers using AWS native services (EKS, ECS, etc.).

+ Applies practical knowledge of job area typically obtained through work experience continuous learning.

+ Evaluates existing systems and assists with planning long-term strategies.

+ Work across teams, and external customer groups to develop strategy, design solutions, and advise implementation teams during deployment.

+ Monitor environment state config using native tools such as AWS Config or Systems Manager State Manager.

+ Provide communication, ensuring that managers, team members, stakeholders within the organization, and clients are kept informed of relevant trends and projects.

+ Research new or alternative technologies, document findings, conduct pilots and evaluate multiple vendors, make recommendations, and develop business cases to justify the investment.

+ Deal with escalations, make assessments, recommendations or provide solutions to resolve issues.

+ Experience working with FinOps teams to identify storage cost optimization recommendations.

+ Experience working with infrastructure as code for provisioning and managing storage resources.

+ Assist decision makers with budget forecasting for cloud storage resources.

+ Write and maintain standard operating procedures and work instructions.

**QUALIFICATIONS:**

**Required skills and experience:**

+ BA/BS (or equivalent experience), 2-5 years of experience (Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related area is preferred)

+ AWS Practitioner Cert

+ DoD 8570 IAT LEVEL II compliant (minimum Security+)

+ Experience with Windows Server OS 2012 and above or Linux/Red Hat OS

+ Experience with Infrastructure as Code concepts

+ Experience with DoD data storage standards (FIPS 140-2) and encryption

+ Experience with AWS cloud storage services (S3, EBS, multi-region replication, versioning, tiers, lifecycle)

+ Experience with AWS Systems Manager (Patch Manager, Sessions Manager, Software Distributor, Maintenance Window)

+ AWS Backup (Protection Groups, Schedules, Restores)

+ Experience with cloud backup and recovery technologies

+ DR and COOP

+ Active Secret clearance is required to start
