Registered Nurse (RN) | Progressive Care Unit Location: Denton, TX Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $1,614 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: ASAP About the Position Job Title: Travel RN - Trauma Stepdown Profession: RN Specialty: PCU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year License: RN Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH Must-Have: ACLS BLS NIH Excellent customer service skills Description: Position is for a Travel RN in a Trauma Stepdown unit. The unit has 25 beds and a staff of 44 FTEs. Typical patient ratios are 1:4, with 1:5 max for stepdown. Primary staff includes 1 charge nurse, 6 RNs, 3 techs, and 1 secretary on the night shift. The unit utilizes EMR Meditech for documentation. There is no on-call requirement. Floating to stepdown service lines may be necessary. Experience in trauma or orthopedic care is preferred. Key procedures performed on the unit include trauma surgery, bariatric surgery, vascular surgery, and general surgery. Patients may have neurological diagnoses, including CVA, TIA, and post-neuro surgery recovery. Care includes management of sepsis, congestive heart failure, and respiratory distress. The unit supports post-operative care for many surgical procedures, such as cardiac surgeries and pulmonary embolism management. Vital signs are taken every 4 hours alongside telemetry monitoring and patient assessments. A team player with good communication skills is best suited for this role. The environment is dynamic and requires adaptability to change. Continued professional development is encouraged within the unit.
