The National Director (ND) of Talent is responsible for developing and leading a comprehensive talent strategy that ensures all positions are filled with top talent who see ResponsiveEd as a place where they are able to grow and build a career, and supporting leaders to be outstanding people managers. The ND of Talent ensures the development and execution of optimum people experiences from a candidate's first contact with ResponsiveEd through their entire experience with us, including a welcoming, informative onboarding experience led by their manager and supported by home office processes and resources. They also serve as a human capital expert, ensuring achievement of the key human capital objectives: staff retention and strong organizational health. The ND of Talent partners closely with senior leadership of Human Resources and Executive teams to create a cohesive continuum and work in partnership.
About You:The ideal candidate is a collaborative, hands-on member of the leadership team skilled at designing and executing strategic organizational roadmaps to build a strong, people-first culture where every staff member feels valued, motivated, and engaged. They have a proven track record of enlisting, developing, and retaining exceptional talent and lead with a high level of emotional intelligence (EQ), excelling at building trusting relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. They will also bring,
- Knowledge in all recruiting components including, but not limited to, sourcing, selection, networking, assessment, and relationship management - Knowledge of Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), social media and hiring cycle workflows - A good understanding of employment laws and regulations relevant to the recruitment function - Ability to set and balance short- and long-term priorities and drive change within a dynamic and decentralized environment - Effective project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously

What Youll Do:Talent Strategy

  • Advise senior leadership on talent strategy by determining people-centric goals and measures of success
  • Partner with brand superintendents and their leadership in creating a backward plan to meet their recruitment and hiring goals by 1st day of school
  • Monitor progress of overall recruitment and retention health across brands and problem-solve to adjust course and build skill as needed
  • Support brand superintendents and their leadership to analyze their specific needs and develop aligned strategies to make progress in these areas
  • Empower Regional and Campus Directors to effectively using staffing data and trackers to understand and manage their staffing and retention goals
  • Increase data visibility and align goals across teams
  • Evaluate and improve recruitment strategy and processes by designing to end-user needs
  • Anticipate the hiring landscape's impact on organizational priorities and work creatively to solve complex recruitment challenges and develop competitive and diverse teacher and staff pipelines
  • Establish operating mechanisms to ensure planning, communication, and problem solving across teams
  • Communicate with brand superintendents and their leadership the importance of hiring by deadline
  • Set vision and expectation for quickly filling mid-year vacancies
  • Develop systems that enable the talent team to respond rapidly when vacancies arise
    Talent Systems, Communication & Culture Building
    • Provide the structures, guidance, and systems to ensure that ResponsiveEd is a best-in-class employer of choice in all markets by instituting practices for staff development, coaching, talent philosophies, and growth
    • Develop ResponsiveEd's employer value proposition using compelling and effective communication to represent ResponsiveEd externally and support partnership building/collaboration to attract diverse candidates
    • Lead training and support initiatives for hiring managers/campus leaders ensuring the execution of a rigorous, equitable interview process
    • Design an innovative seamless onboarding experience and replicable tools and systems for new hires and their managers that leads to early success in role
    • Generate and provide data visibility to managers and key leaders about new hire retention, satisfaction
    • Partner with talent managers and key leaders who have the lowest new hire retention or most new hires to close gaps quickly
    • Partner with HR compliance and Technology teams to backward plan workflow
    • Create avenues for greater visibility on internal talent information, performance, potential pathways, and opportunities
      Supervisory Responsibilities: - Directly manage 4 Talent Acquisition Partners, Talent Data Analyst, Talent Coordinator

      • Education: Bachelor's Degree, Masters preferred
      • Certification: HR certification (SHRM, SHRM-CP, PHR, or SPHR) strongly preferred
      • Experience: 8+ years of professional experience with 3+ years of full cycle recruitment experience, 3+ years of successfully leading teams and directly managing professional adults
      • Experience in K-12 environment preferred
      • Experience designing and facilitating professional development
      • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office AND Google Suite applications
      • Comfortable navigating data dashboards within excel and business intelligence platforms
      • Ability to travel up to 30% of the time
