OPENLANE technology powers our and ADESA.ca online marketplaces. This role will lead our user experience team, working primarily on these two platforms. Both of these B2B password protected sites are the online vehicle marketplaces of choice for car dealers to buy and sell wholesale vehicles in the U.S. and CA. and .ca drive millions of wholesale vehicle purchases each year and our car buyers need a streamlined purchasing experience that caters to their B2B needs. This role will lead design efforts within that experience; working closely with customers and our product team in defining the optimal user journey. The Director of UX is accountable for the creation and execution of the holistic UX strategy across the and ADESA.ca digital wholesale vehicle marketplaces. This role will drive strategic user experience changes to those platforms and ensure a consistent, frictionless purchasing journey for our online customers. This consistent user experience starts with /.ca and setting a vision for the site. That vision should ensure strategic product priorities are represented across each stage of the buyer journey. Business and customer needs should be represented during each step of the user journey. This leadership role will represent the customer in strategic discussions at the product leadership level across multiple online platforms. Lastly, this role will lead a team of UX Managers and UX Designers. What You Will Be Doing: Lead a team of UX Managers & Designers in developing best-in-class B2B user experiences across multiple online marketplaces. Including but not limited to:Defining the optimal and cohesive user journey for our online B2B buyers and sellersEngaging with buyers on a frequent basis through formal and non-formal product discovery to help inform the cohesive user journeyDeveloping and maintain user personas to inform the product development processBecoming the expert on and ADESA.ca online user behaviorWorking with product and technology leadership to establish and employ a collaborative UX-centered product development processCoaching and mentoring a team of design leaders to become user experts and champions of the business strategy through their design effortsDiscovery planning with Product leadership, engaging with customers, defining project scope with their Designers and Product counterparts, supporting their team within design presentation meetings and ensuring their team executes on design deliverables.Analyzing industry best practices, client feedback, new vendor offerings and learnings from metrics tracking, and competitive analysis to recommend opportunities for improvements of customer experience, products, tools, etc.Brainstorming, prototyping and designing how new features/enhancements can be deployed across multiple platforms including desktop, tablets and smart phones.Defining and building digital guidelines and a formal Design SystemImplementing a proper A/B product and design testing system with Product LeadershipMeeting all required timelines to support the on-time delivery of business and technological changesDemonstrated ability to think creatively and provide marketable solutions in conceiving, developing, and producing tactics.Ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and build strong relationships with co-workers and clients.What You Need to Be Successful: BA/BS degree in Art, Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive Science, Anthropology, or related field.At least 10 years of professional experience as UX Strategist or UX Architect on high profile projects involving international, remote teams. These projects have involved research, design, IA, wireframing, whiteboarding, user/task flow, rapid prototyping to capture data-driven user interaction, functionality and experience.Must be a self-starter with minimal oversight.A clear understanding of diverse markets with the ability to communicate the balance of user needs, business objectives, and technology constraints to key stakeholders.Possess strong stakeholder management, facilitation, communication and presentation skills.Experience working on large scale (75,000+ users) B2B facing web sites.Demonstrated success working on large and complex digital projects.Ability to establish and maintain strong and effective working relationships.Experience auditing sites/apps, building personas, conducting interviews & surveys, authoring and presenting user flows, process diagrams, developing information architecture, content matrices, and feature matrices.Experience leading designers and other members of a cross-functional team within an agile environment working with product owners, designers, and developers.Experience with mobile-first product design.A portfolio that demonstrates experience designing modern UIs and interactions. We are interested in design solutions, not design artifacts.Keeps abreast of digital landscape, including annual expos, competitive studies in UX, targeted competitive analysis, industry trends and digital developments in other market segments.Lead, through Agile methodologies, collaborative efforts through all phases of the system development life cycle (SDLC), including requirements gathering and tactical user experience activities.Oversees delivery and quality of UX requirements and other artifacts with Product ManagementKnowledge of web-based technologies and their impact on the feasibility of design solutions such as Figma.Experience working with front and back-end developers to utilize latest technologies and create intuitive and beautiful user experiences.Excellent knowledge of rapid prototyping and testing tools such as Maze, & OptimizelyWe thank all applicants.
