Assurance Director is primarily responsible for the development,
implementation, and oversight of the corporate quality culture that
ensures compliance to all government regulations, adherence to
customer specifications and the protection of the Idahoan
brands.
This position takes an active leadership role in the implementation
of the company's quality culture, policies, and procedures
including standard operating procedures, documentation, guidelines,
and quality plans. Directs the Corporate QA organization, manages
budget and provides technical assistance to production and sales.
Advises and directs Plant Quality Teams in accordance with overall
corporate quality plan and objectives. Principle
Accountabilities:
1. QualityAssurance: Accountable for development, review, and
communication of all quality assurance processes and procedures,
FSMA, GMPs, food safety, corporate sanitation, and product
specifications. Oversees all internal and external plant audits
including food safety and quality systems audits and certifications
including Kosher and Halal.
2. Supplier and Vendor Management: Monitors suppliers and vendors
to ensure specification compliance. Responsible for vendor
qualification program.
3. Food Safety and Sanitation Improvements: Assists Operations in
identifying methods of improving the food safety and sanitation of
current and new processes.
4. Quality Issue Resolution: Investigates, identifies, and assists
in resolving production and packaging quality issues.
5. Product Specification Compliance: Develops new and improves
existing QA testing procedures and methods, data recording and
analysis of results to better monitor specification compliance.
6. Customer Support: Communicates with all customers (retail, food
service and industrial) concerning food safety and quality issues
and questions including complaint documentation, customer
responses, identifies trends and opportunities for improvement.
7. Leadership: Provides leadership and development for Corporate QA
team member as well as engagement with broader QA and Food Safety

Professional Qualifications/Required Skills of the Position:
Education and/or Experience: Minimum Bachelor's Degree in food
science, chemistry or microbiology from an accredited college
required. Minimum 5-7 years of quality assurance experience in the
food industry, potato/dehydration industry a plus. Quality
assurance practices as they apply to individual unique products can
be learned during on-the-job training, but overall capability in
this discipline must be previously demonstrated. Collaboration and
supervisory experience necessary.
Language Skills: Ability to read, comprehend, and compose
instructions, correspondence, SOPs and memos. Must possess the
ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing. The
ability to conduct professional and compelling presentations and
respond to questions from groups of managers and senior executives
within the Company is critical. Effectively facilitate
meetings.
Reasoning Ability: Demonstrates the self-confidence and maturity to
make decisions and solve problems with minimal direction. Organized
and able to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.
Possesses strong analytical, quantitative, communication, problem
solving, and technical skills. Have the ability to creatively apply
experience, common sense, and a strategic and economical business
perspective to a variety of situations, processes and people.
Interpersonal Skills: Team player, flexible and accepts changing
assignments and accountabilities.
Computer Skills: Proficient in using Microsoft applications Word,
Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Work Environment: The work environment is a traditional office with
approximately 40 - 50% travel involved, including some
international travel. Individual must be capable of carrying up to
50 lbs while traveling. Must be flexible to occasionally work
overtime. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable
