Category: Directors and Managers --- Job ID: 00950-141026 Provides executive level leadership and oversight for the Quality program at Medical Center of Lewisville. Develops, implements, and reviews organizational performance improvement plan and associated policies and procedures to support successful quality outcomes and ongoing improvement in the delivery of healthcare to patients. Facilitates process improvement efforts among PI teams, Medical Staff, and hospital departments. Responsible for hospital accreditation program and provides education to key hospital staff related to Federal, State and regulatory agency requirements such as the Joint Commission, CMS, TDH, OSHA, etc. Coordinates quality indicator development, data retrieval and analysis, and the screening and referral of cases to Medical Staff Committees for departmental peer review Specific Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Directs the Quality Improvement Program at the Medical Center of Lewisville, providing leadership and professional assistance to all aspects of the Quality Program.
  • Oversight of operations of Quality Resources Department.
  • Facilitates process improvement efforts among performance improvement teams, medical staff, and hospital departments.
  • Responsible for hospital accreditation program and provides education to key hospital staff related to federal, state and regulatory agency requirements such as Joint Commission, CMS, TDSH, OSHA, etc.
  • Annually develops, implements, and reviews organizational Quality Improvement Plan and associated policies and procedures.
  • Supervises and collaboratively works with Director of Risk Management in the follow-up and external reporting of events, and patient safety related concerns including the formal patient grievance process.
  • Participates in root cause analysis of sentinel and reportable events.
  • Serves as a member of the Quality Improvement Council (QIC)
  • Supervises and collaboratively works with the Director of Information Strategies to prioritize data collection needs for quality and performance improvement functions. Identifies the need for analysis and reporting of data for the organization's performance improvement efforts as well as the reporting of that information to all levels of the organization (Board, Medical Staff, Senior Leadership and Staff)
  • Collaboratively works with the Vice President of Organizational Development in the pursuit of organizational performance improvement and designations such as Pathways to Excellence, Magnet and TAPE.
  • Collaboratively works with Medical Staff Services for quality activities and the Medical Staff peer review program.
  • Performs data entry and management of moderately complex internal databases.
  • Identifies areas for further analysis and referral to physician peer review from data sources such as internal audits, CHOIS, and occurrence reporting.
  • Oversees data abstraction and/or inter-rater reliability testing in Core Measures processes and projects.
  • Objectively reviews Quality Resources staff performance and documents evaluations within specified time frame.
  • Attends Divisional Quality meetings.
  • Directs and collaborates with health care teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
  • Participates in the orientation of new employees regarding hospital quality initiatives.
  • Demonstrates sensitivities to culturally diverse patient population.
  • Demonstrates understanding of HCA, Medical Center of Lewisville mission, guiding principles and incorporates them into daily performance.       • Education
      • --Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or related field
      • --Master's Degree in Nursing or Healthcare Administration preferred. c. CPHQ certification preferred
        • Experience
        • Minimum of 5 years of managerial experience in quality management or hospital management.
        • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of Joint Commission accreditation standards and survey methodology, CMS regulations, and other Federal and State regulations related to healthcare quality management.
