As the Senior Manager, you will support the Business Development team in assessing, prioritizing, and driving external growth opportunities for the company. You will participate with key stakeholders and decision makers globally to evaluate and execute a variety of transactions including acquisitions, divestitures, equity investments, license agreements, and other partnership arrangements.What will be your Duties and Responsibilities?Nothing in this job description restricts management's right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time.Support the Business Development team in developing and implementing a strategic business development plan to drive growth opportunities.Support the execution of a variety of transactions including acquisitions, investments, divestitures, licensing arrangements, and partnership activities.Organize and manage deal teams, including business and functional leaders and outside experts to drive transactions to completion.Conduct detailed financial/valuation analysis including multi-scenario discounted cash flow models. Evaluate various potential deal structures and conduct financial impact analysis.Must have a strong understanding of financial statements, financial modeling, financial and valuation concepts and strong management skills with experience in supporting cross-functional team through a complex process.Prepare business cases and presentation materials with executive leadership and Board of Director approval.Assemble and manage due diligence teams.Assist in transaction and execution by supporting drafting of related agreements and consulting with appropriate functions as required.Monitor external and internal environment for business trends and development of attractive technologies, products, and company targetsCollaborate with the Business Units to assess potential opportunities.Assist in post-transaction integration teams and transition to business.Lead by example in consistently achieving optimal results and exhibiting an exceptional high level of commitment, initiative, and integrity in all business decisions and actions.Regular attendance required.What skills will you need?Proven leadership ability as defined by the following competencies and as demonstrated in previous work experience:Initiative and Action OrientedHigh Quality and Extraordinary ResultsVision/Strategic Focus AcumenAppropriate, Clear and Effective CommunicationDealing with AmbiguityCreativity/Innovation/Continuous LearningManaging through InfluenceProblem Solving and Decision MakingPlanning/Goal Setting and AchievementTechnical Competency and BusinessExceptional Personal IntegrityEmotional MaturityEducation and/or Experience:Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related technical field is required, MBA is strongly preferred. Must have successful strategic, transactional and corporate development experience medical device sector and/or an Investment Banking or Consulting (non-audit) background in the medical device space. Previous work experience must demonstrate significant achievements in project planning and execution, due diligence, business development transactions to drive growth including revenue, market share, new product development or distribution channels. Must demonstrate leadership skills consistent with the organization's expectations.Language/Mathematical Skills:Language Skills Required -Able to read, analyze and interpret business documents, legal agreements, procedures, periodicals and professional/clinical journals.Able to develop and write reports, executive presentations, and correspondence relating to a broad range of functional activities.Able to appropriately communicate and negotiate with external parties in international and sensitive environments, including surgeons.Able to understand and explain complex issues to a diverse population.Able to make effective, professional, and persuasive presentations on complex or controversial topics to a diverse internal or external population.Mathematical Skills Required -Ability to read and interpret financial statements, conduct detailed financial modeling (including discounted cash flow models), and strong understanding of financial valuation conceptsMust be able to quickly apply the complex financial and math concepts to complex situations and models (including negotiations).Able to review summary figures, identify trends and analyze impact relative to areas of responsibility.Decision Making/Problem Solving Skills:Must be able to assess complex business development opportunities, conduct detailed valuation analysis and evaluate financial impact of potential deal structures. Must be able to define problems, collect necessary information, establish facts, conduct appropriate diligence as needed, draw conclusions and take appropriate action. Is empowered to make decisions directly affecting their ability to perform the above duties and responsibilities, and regularly communicate with all affected internal parties.Reasoning/Analytical Skills:Demonstrate critical thinking in ability to define complex problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Able to analyze both legal and business situations and extract critical elements for decision making process, present them as alternatives with associated risks and describe the recommended solution from a business standpoint. Must be able to develop processes and procedures as well as identify when the processes and procedures do not apply in a specific situation and handle exceptions as needed. Work Environment:Will work in private office area with a minimal noise level. Will also be required to work in public environments such as restaurants, air terminals, convention sites, etc. Is expected to perform complex job tasks while experiencing numerous interruptions.
